September 2019 hotel 10 blog

Are you going to be in Montreal in September? If so, you are guaranteed to be entertained. Summer is coming to an end, but the new season brings a breath of fresh novelty as new plays and exhibitions are displayed, and interesting concerts and shows are on the agenda. Of course, all these activities and attractions are within walking distance of the HOTEL10. In lack of inspiration for your next trip to Montreal? Discover the recommendations of our team.

Until October, at the McCord Museum, experience the Balenciaga – Master of haute couture exhibition where you will discover the exceptional know-how of the talented couturier. See, also, Shalom Montreal: stories and contributions from Jewish communities, which bring together testimonials, videos and photos to weave together the cultural and human aspect of Montreal. The resplendent Illuminations exhibition – Books from the 13th to the 16th century in Quebec Collections, will be presented at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts until January. This is the very first exhibition of the MBAM devoted to books – first-line narratives for lay people from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Discover an unknown heritage with this collection of 50 items.

Also, every year, at the Bonsecours Market in Old Montreal, the laureates of World Press Photo, the prestigious world press photography competition, are exhibited. Do not miss the 2019 edition of this impressive exhibition, which is presented until September 30th.

If you had not have the chance yet, go visit the ephemeral space of Jardins Gamelin! Inaugurated at the beginning of summer and open until September 30th, this public summer space is a true oasis in the city, with vegetable gardens, picnic tables, activities (free yoga in the morning, workshops and conferences) and food trucks.

A little further north, the terrace built as part of a pilot project at the top of Mount Royal, The suspended coffee is the perfect place to take a drink while enjoying spectacular views. From the HOTEL10, the more adventurous will walk there and take the opportunity to climb the Grand Staircase which leads directly to the summit of Mount Royal.

But still, if you do not want to go too far: the terrace of the HOTEL10 remains an excellent choice for its breathtaking views, its colourful decor and gourmet menu signed Agnus Dei Traiteur. Because, after all, you do not have to go far to fill up with “Montreal”, even if we strongly recommend you to, because it’s definitely worth it.
