As Valentine’s Day approaches, we have decided to do things differently - well, just like usual - and talk about love another way, because love can take many forms and always deserves to be mentioned, especially at the dawn of February 14. Here are 5 things we absolutely love at HOTEL10. 

We love pets

The love between a pet and its owner is infinite and difficult to measure. Several members of the HOTEL10 team own a pet and in addition to sometimes bringing them to work, we have realized over time that our customers also travel more often with their furry best friends. Our love for pets has led us to develop a complete pet friendly offer so that they are more than welcome, creating a dedicated reception area where customers are encouraged to take a photo of their pet, in addition to a range of pet products designed with the help of local partners (that we also LOVE).

It is now possible to purchase a dog or cat bathrobe branded HOTEL10, grooming products, treats and more, carefully selected by our team (and the pets).

All this pet friendly offer has been brought together in a Pet Spa package which includes:

 We LOVE diversity

For us, love must be celebrated in all its forms. Our mantra? Come as you are! In addition to being proud partners of the Fierté Montréal festival and being an inclusive hotel, we have developed an LGBTQ+ offer in addition to writing a blog in special collaboration mode. The objective was to recommend places around HOTEL10 for the most inclusive stay. It is therefore in the eye of influencers Travis L'Henaff and Seth Falk, whom we welcomed a few times to our hotel, which has now become their Montreal landmark, that we are sharing with you our favorites for a perfect stay.

We LOVE sport 

Like any true Montrealer, HOTEL10 loves sports…. and we know how much sport loves Montreal. To officialize this love, the idea of creating a thematic suite emerged naturally. It took a little over a year before SUITE10, which is a tribute to the legends of sport and the number 10, was inaugurated in the fall of 2019. 

Sport undoubtedly occupies a special place in the hearts of Montrealers, who love their sports teams. The SUITE10, both a hotel room and an event space, pays tribute to around twenty athletes who have marked sporting history: Guy Lafleur of the Montreal Canadiens, Olympic gymnast Nadia Comaneci, André Dawson of the Expos and the soccer player Diego Maradona, to name just a few. SUITE10, shortly after its inauguration, was awarded the Grand Prix du Design, accommodation, restaurant & bar category: boutique hotel. Discover this unique suite through this video or, better yet, rent it with your crew  to see it for yourselves, since it can accommodate up to 40 people for a sporting event.

We LOVE JAZZ 

The Jazz Festival, which is held every year a few steps from HOTEL10, is the most important jazz music festival in the world, nothing less! The first week of July, the greatest artists from here and elsewhere meet at Quartier des Spectacles for a series of indoor and outdoor shows, most of which are free. Since we are in the city of the most important jazz festival, but also because we are located in the neighborhood that hosts it every year, there is a special place in our heart for jazz music. 

The recent LOFT OPUS, inaugurated in August 2022, is a love letter to jazz and transports you to a sumptuous decor inspired from the prohibition era. A magnificent gramophone will take you on a journey to the sound of vinyl records and when the sound of the gramophone fades...the music will continue since the walls are covered with magnificent paintings of musicians by the painter Rémi LaBarre, who imagined this space which wants to be both a hotel suite, a museum, a time machine, a romantic cocoon, and of course, a tribute to jazz.

We LOVE music 

We like jazz, of course, but we like music in general. After the inauguration of our suite 2116-Chez Dédé, in honor of singer Dédé Fortin and his band Les Colocs, we dreamed of another project that would put a Montreal artist in the spotlight. And, because Dédé Fortin is always in our heart, we wanted to include him too! 

On November 2, 2023, we officially unveiled our most recent art work, MUsique10, a mural in homage to artists Gino Vannelli and Dédé Fortin. Guy Hamelin and Francis Turenne, two Montreal artists who collaborated to create this ode to Montreal and its cultural scene, a mission dear to HOTEL10, conceived the mural. In addition to this piece, which now proudly stands on the front of the hotel on Sherbrooke West street, an artistic journey is offered inside, taking guests through the career of Gino Vannelli, who was born and has written his first single in Montreal. The tribute project, named MUsique10 for (Murale et Musique) exhibitor 10, is composed of: a mural revealing a montage between the lyrics of several songs ode to the metropolis, including “I Just Wanna Stop” (When I think about those nights in Montreal) written by his brother Ross and sung by Gino Vannelli and “ Juste une p’tite nuite ” by Dédé Fortin et ses Colocs;

The tribute project, named MUsique10 for (Music & Mural) times “10” is composed of:

• A mural revealing a montage between the lyrics of several songs ode to our metropolis, including "I Just Wanna Stop" (When I think about those nights in Montreal) written by his brother Ross and performed by Gino Vannelli and “Juste une p`tite nuite” by Dédé Fortin and the Colocs;
• Stained glass windows bearing images of the Vannelli brothers;
• A guitar and gold records autographed by Gino Vannelli;
• Souvenir photos which adorn the walls of the 1st floor of the hotel;
• A reproduction of the mural on the 1st floor elevator doors;

We LOVE ART, which is part of HOTEL10’s unique DNA

Finally, we LOVE art, and many art pieces by local artists are exhibited all over the hotel, which is quietly becoming an open-air art gallery, to our own delight. 

Through the different works showcased at the reception level, in the main staircase which leads to the garden level, in the corridor leading to the Saint-Laurent salon, an improvised art gallery we have renamed BLVD-Art that welcome artists in residence, in common bathrooms and hallways, in short, almost everywhere, we hope to introduce you to local artists that we love and who, like us, do things differently.
